My new weekend foundation love – Physicians Formula

A couple of weeks ago I was blown away by the most generous package from the team at Physicians Formula.  I have loved quite a few of their products in the past so I was thrilled to have so many more beauties to play with.

But, what should I start with?

As there were so many gorgeous products to try (and photograph) I decided to start with something that I could use straight away and photograph later.

Physicians Formula Argan Wear BB Cream

Boy was I glad I started with the new Argan Oil BB cream.  It is an absolute winner!

I have tried quite a few BB creams in the past and I haven’t been a fan of them.  I usually find that they don’t offer much coverage and that the colour is completely wrong for my skintone.  Not this one.  It is perfect.

The coverage is similar to a medium coverage foundation and can be applied to the face with the fingers which makes it super quick to apply.

As with most foundation/base products I decided to trial it on the weekend so that if it didn’t perform I wasn’t at work unable to do anything to fix my face.

As soon as I applied it it was love at first sight.  My slight pigmentation was covered, the pores refined and I was left with a beautiful even complexion.

As the name suggests, it is infused with Argan Oil which offers your skin a lovely moisture injection which means that it is perfect for those of us who have dry skin and love a more dewy finish.

After wearing it for a day I was pleased to notice that there had been no oxidisation and that the coverage was as good in the evening as it had been in the morning.

The next day I decided to wear it as my foundation.  I always apply a powder to finish my makeup but instead of using a translucent powder I decided to use my Laura Mercier Mineral Powder.

Laura Mercier Mineral powder in real sand

OMG – the combination of the two was beautiful.  The finely milled powder added a soft glow to my complexion that made my pores disappear and left my skin looking as though it had been airbrushed.

I had found my perfect weekend makeup and possibly my new favourite base combination.

I will definitely be considering taking these on our upcoming European trip as the Physicians Formula Argan Oil BB will be a perfect airplane companion for applying just before we arrive in Rome.  I will be able to apply it quickly and add a swipe of blush, lippie and mascara and I should look reasonably presentable as this has been my ‘go to’ weekend look for the last few weeks.

Do you have a favourite BB cream or mineral foundation?  Do you have a different foundation for weekend as opposed to a weekday?

I wonder if you could take in a small pot into Priceline and ask if you can have a sample of the Physicians Formula Argan Oil BB cream to try at home? That way you could see how it compares to the Garnier one.

That would be great – I know in America they are far more generous with samples or small travel-sized items than they are here . . . the expectation of paying full price to take a risk with a full sized product isn’t very fair!

I layer mineral powder over Chi Chi BB cream on weekends or work days (depending on my mood). It always looks really natural.

That is great to hear Kellie. I have definitely heard great things about Chi Chi products but I haven’t tried any of them yet.

I have a couple of BB creams I use in rotation. I love the ease of using BB creams. This Physician’s Formula one sounds amazing! I love the fact that it contains Argan Oil and thus wouldn’t be at all drying on the skin. Another product for my ever growing purchase wish list!

I have also fallen in love with the ease of this product Ingrid. It is beautifully moisturising and surprisingly looks as good at the end of the day as it does when it is first applied. It is definitely coming with me on the plane to Europe!
