There is just something so alluring about Bobbi Brown products. The sleek black packaging, the gorgeous palettes of perfectly matched eyeshadows, the large selection of lipsticks, through to the beautifully soft makeup brushes. I could spend hours playing with the testers at their counters.
I have had a love affair with Bobbi Brown products for years and am always drooling over each new collection. I was really lucky to be sent a few items from the new Bobbi Brown Telluride Collection and it is my pleasure to be able to share my thoughts with you.
Bobbi’s inspiration for the new Telluride Collection:
Nestled amongst soaring mountains in Colorado, Telluride is famous for its natural beauty, making it a constant source of inspiration for Bobbi. Each product in this collection is designed to deliver the gorgeous glow that the late afternoon sun in Telluride casts on the skin. Featuring the luminous
shades of tawny nude, rose gold, and pink bronzy, this collection makes it easy to achieve that sought-after natural, sun-kissed glow.
The collection consists of 3 beautiful cream blushes in New Telluride (a warm mauve), Maui (a pink coral) and Fresh Melon. I have not tried a Bobbi Brown cream blush before so I think I may have to add one of these to my collection as they look gorgeous and you know how much I adore blush!
I was delighted to be sent the Limited Edition eye palette and shimmer brick, along with the Pink Dusk lip trio.
As you know I LOVE neutral eyeshadows and this palette has some absolute standouts. The 4 matte shadows – cream, woodrose, antique rose and smoky brown are the most pigmented of the palette and I have found these to be perfect for my everyday look. Cream is perfect for under the eyebrow with woodrose all over the lid and antique rose in the crease. For a natural day look I have been using smoky brown applied with a wet eyeliner brush along the lashline instead of eyeliner.
When I want to add a little punch to my neutral look I love using Velvet plum all over the lid with Heather rose in the crease. The only colour that is disappointing is Blazing star as there is hardly any colour payoff. It is a rose gold sparkle in a clear base that doesn’t seem to add any real punch to the eyes. If it was replaced with a white shimmery shade it would be perfect for use in the inner corners and on the centre of the lid.
All of these shadows except Antique rose are limited edition so if you love these colours you had better be quick before it sells out.
The limited edition shimmer brick in Sunset pink is a beautiful blend of pearl pigments that look gorgeous blended together as a highlight on the high points of the cheeks. Being in the older age bracket I have to be careful when using highlighter as it can emphasize my fine lines, but this finely milled shimmer finishes off my makeup giving me a lovely glow rather than looking like a glitter ball.
I have found myself using a blend of all of the colours on my cheeks aswell as using the lighter colour as a highlight on the inner corner of my eye. You can also use these as eyeshadows making this a very versatile product.
If I had to choose my favourite of the collection it would have to be the Pink Dusk lip trio. As soon as I saw the lip pencil and lipstick it was love at first sight. I am a pink girl at heart and I knew that these would be perfect for my colouring.
I love the look of nude lipsticks, but always struggle to find something that suits my colouring, but this is PERFECT. There is enough colour to give me definition without washing me out and the texture is so creamy that my lips remain moisturised all day.
Being a natural colour it is easy for me to apply this without a mirror and I have been wearing it every day since I received it and they are definitely coming to Italy!
As usual, Bobbi Brown has not disappointed. These new additions to my collection are very welcome and have been on high rotation since I received them.
If you have the opportunity to visit a Bobbi Brown counter, please take the time to explore her range in detail as I am sure you will find some new ‘loves’ in there too.
